Kiara looked curiously at Kimalo. "Did you father happen to be Ed or Banzai?" She grunted calmly.

"Ed." Kimalo rolled her eyes. "He made us call him 'Edward' though, because he was too 'noble' for the plain name Ed." Kimalo growled slightly. "But I have respect for lions, they are great beings, with powerful auras and spiritual souls. I see it in the stars." She whispered. "I have a, er, somewhat special connection with the stars. My father would roll his eyes at such things, but I wished to become something different, something useful and helpful to the great gold beings." She nodded at Kiara. "Like your father, Simba. I am sorry for his death." Although Kimalo had never been in the pridelands before, she had sensed that something was troubling Kiara, and she had seen a new star in the Startrail of the Heavens that had the aura of a grat lion. She had made a good guess, it seemed..... "I also come with a request." Kimalo said carefully, not to seem too demanding. "I have heard of your Rafiki, and how much he knows. I would wish to become his apprentice, if you don't mind much," Kimalo dipped her head again to Kiara, hoping she would understand.

Kiara looked curiously at the hyena." Your a very interesting hyena. Rafiki is an odd baboon. He lives in the huge baobab tree over on the horizon. But please be careful. He sometimes hits weak minded animals with his staff." Kiara laughed. She pointed with her tail in the direction of the tree.

Kimalo laughed lightly. "Thank you." Her silver braid fluttered in the soft wind. Then she started in the direction of the tree.

Kiara smiled."She would be a good use for Rafiki." She purred and turned to the lionesses."Lets go home."

(purring is possible for lions.) Perseus watched as he approached. "Just wondering... But why was there a young hyena here just a moment ago?" His face showed a puzzled look.

Nikki spotted the hunters of her pride. "Uh-oh. Busted. Maybe." she whispered to herself. She worried they would see her, and take her back to the pride.

She ducked her head. "Dang it." she whispered. "I was just exploring!" she defended herself, knowing she'd be in trouble.
